RideShare Connection: Find your match for free!

The RideShare Connection is a free, easy and convenient service that connects commuters throughout Greater Kansas City, Lawrence and St. Joseph who are interested in carpooling. If you're new to carpooling, check out the Carpool FAQ under Related Links for some helpful tips. For a step-by-step guide on how to use this site, click on Tutorial above.

RideShare Connection also provides a way for commuters to track their trips using all forms of transportation - carpool, bus, bicycle, walking and telecommuting.  Check out your Commute Tracker calendar to report the days you use one of those modes or alternate work arrangements.  You'll be able to track your cost savings and emissions reductions over time.

Commute Tracker promotion for September

The RideShare program will resume its monthly promotions for Commute Tracker users in September.  Those who report carpooling, vanpooling, riding the bus, bicycling, walking or telecommuting this month will be eligible for a prize drawing for the following items:

  • $25 Target gift card (one winner)
  • $25 Kansas City Originals gift card (one winner)
  • RideShare lunch bag (2 winners)

Winners will be notified on Thursday, September 30th. Commuters who work in the following counties are eligible for this promotion: Jackson, Clay, Platte and Cass in Missouri; Johnson, Wyandotte and Leavenworth in Kansas.

Green Commute Challenge 2010 a success

Special thanks to the 45 employers and 1,158 people who took the 2010 Green Commute Challenge.  Together we saved 607,658 miles of driving, 562,042 pounds of emissions and $328,743 in total driving costs. 

Congratulations to these teams who earned the most points in their category: Helix/Architecture + Design (small employer), Stinson Morrison Hecker (medium employer) and UMB Bank (large employer).
