Green Commute Challenge begins July 6th
With gas prices starting to rise, employers in the Kansas City region have a great way to help their employees reduce their commute costs and keep the air clean. The Green Commute Challenge, which begins July 6th and runs through August 28th, is a regional, employer-based contest in which participants will earn points each time they report carpooling, riding the bus, bicycling, walking or telecommuting on their Commute Tracker calendars. Weekly and monthly prizes will be awarded, and the Carpool Connection will track each team's progress. If your organization is located in Jackson, Clay, Platte or Cass counties in Missouri, or Johnson, Wyandotte or Leavenworth counties in Kansas, you are eligible to participate. Click on the link in the "For Employers" box to get started.
The Green Commute Challenge is sponsored by the RideShare and Air Quality programs at the Mid-America Regional Council.
